Hi Guys
I have come across a very unusual problem when recording TV programs using K!TV and the ZoomOut plug-in.
All recordings stop exactly after 2Hours 43Mins!
The screen pauses and all activity comes to a halt.
Formular for Audio Codec or Video Codec for real-time encoding :
Version of ZoomOut - 2.3
Operating system - Windows XP MCE
Codec type - Working Video Codec
Codec name - Morgan Multimedia M-JPEG
Codec version - 3.0.0.9
Codec parameters: All set at standard options
For Audio Codec:
Available sampling frequencies - 48,000
Used bit rate - 16
For Video Codec:
Capture Resolution - 720 x 576
CPU used: Pentium D 2.8
Resulting CPU usage: 100% when recording.
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance. |

Hello Paresh,
2 problems for you :
First : your CPU usage -> 100% it's not good. If you record 1 minute what is the result ? Have you a good video, a highest CPU charge ???
Perhaps it will be better for you to use another codec as XVID. Results are good
Secondly : How Mo or Go are used when you record 2h43 ? Are you Fat or NTFS ? If you're using FAT system, your space record is limited. So you have to cut in 2 or 3 parts your record. Look in Zoomout configuration panel...
See you soon,
GR
PS : sorry for my english |

Hello GR
Firstly, thank you very much for your reply and assistance, highly appreciated.
Answers as follows:-
your CPU usage -> 100% it's not good. If you record 1 minute what is the result ? - APPROX. 5800 Mo
Have you a good video, a highest CPU charge ??? - Pretty Good, both video and sound
I have used XviD Codec previously before switching to Morgan M-JPEG because I found the quality better with M-JPEG. I have also tried HUFFYUV 1.3.1 which is a very good codec but compression is not as good as M_JPEG.
How Mo or Go are used when you record 2h43 ? APPROX 24 Go
Are you Fat or NTFS ? NTFS
sorry for my english No Problemo!
Best regards and looking forward to an early reply
Paresh

Hi Paresh
Citation: |
How Mo or Go are used when you record 2h43 ? APPROX 24 Go |
Twenty-four Giga !!! aouch !!! It's too much don't you think so ?!
Perhaps your hard drive is full no ?
Have you try in k!tv/options/zoomout/preferences -> découpage automatique ( it cuts your file in 2 or 3 parts or more, as you want) ??
Please, read and try my tuto about xvid . The result is pretty good and 1h30 uses 1,5Go ! It will be better !!!
After you make a try (or 2 or 3 ) if the result desagree you, i will propose something else but without k!tv.
Enjoy,
GR |

Hi GR
Twenty-four Giga !!! aouch !!! It's too much don't you think so ?!
Yeah, it is too much but the quality is not bad either when you see the picture in Full Screen, and after watching the recording, I usually delete the file.
Perhaps your hard drive is full no ?
I have 2 hard drives, one internal (250GB) and one external (300GB)
Have you try in k!tv/options/zoomout/preferences -> découpage automatique ( it cuts your file in 2 or 3 parts or more, as you want) ??
Yes, I tried this option as well but the recording still stops at "2Hours 43Mins!
Please, read and try my tuto about xvid . The result is pretty good and 1h30 uses 1,5Go ! It will be better !!!
After you make a try (or 2 or 3 ) if the result desagree you, i will propose something else but without k!tv.
OK, I will try if you insist and will come back to you in due course time, but I would still prefer the M_JPEG codec if possible!
Many thanks for all your assistance

Hi,
I really don't know why your record stop at 2h43 ... Perhaps another user could propose you another idea...
Glad to see you will try Xvid.
See you,
GR |

I don't remember (I didn't use morgan for years because I don't have the new version) but I think there's a big part of the file into virtual memory when incoding, so after a moment your exchange file is full ... |

HI AM
Many thanks for your reply
You wrote:-

Could you please recommend a method to confirm this possibility?

I think that because when you have 1000 Mb RAM Windows give you a 1535 Mb exchange file so a 2535 Mb virtual memory. Not so far from 2400.
First : look through the net on www.morgan-multimedia.com how it work; there is some users of morgan there http://www.vjforums.com and a lot of tips and guide there http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/index.php
Second : you can modify the size of your exchange file and check if there is a modification of the max incoding time : Control Panel; System; Advanced; Performance Paramaters; Advanced; Modify; personalise size
Don't forget to click on Define after.
It's just a traduction of the french term so I don't know if they are the same in the english version.
You can try that else I don't know
Good Luck
Sorry for my english |
